Paolo Fabbrini, MBA

Chairman of the Board

Mr Fabbrini is our executive chairmen from the foundation of the company in 2011. He is chartered accountant and auditor with a long lasting experience in business administration and finance. As a Statutary Auditor he was a Member of the Supervisory Board of the Monte dei Paschi Bank and several companies. He has expert knowledge of corporate low and regulatory frameworks in the context of business management with important track in their implementation and protection in both companies and public entities.

Antonio Chiesi, MD

Dr Chiesi is our founding member and serves as both CEO and CSO. He is a Neurologist with a wide experience in pre-clinical and clinical research and in Biotech start up. Before committing to the Industrial sector was Head of Research at the Department of Drug Research and Medicines Evaluation at the Italian National Institute of Health in Roma (Italy). He is Founding Member & CEO of HansaBioMed SrL in Tallinn (Estonia), a world’s first company dedicated to development of Life Science products for EV/exosome research.

Riccardo Lunardi, MBA

Board Member

Dr. Lunardi has joined Exosomics Board in 2013. He has vast experience in finance, management and company administration. He covered the position of Financial Vice-Director and Chief Institutional Affair Officer of Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena and had various board mandates in companies owned or participated by MPS. He was a member of technical committee of Toscana Innovazione Investment fund, and served as a Deputy General Manager of Siena Biotech S.p.A. and as a member of a Stirring Council of Toscana Life Sciences Foundation.

Mario Airoldi, MD

Dr. Airoldi is a member of our board and our scientific advisor from 2012. , He brings in the experience and perspective of an acknowledged oncologist, currently holding the position of Director of the Department of Oncology and Haematology of the Azienda Ospedaliera Città della Salute e della Scienza in Turin. Dr Airoldi has a long record of heading oncological units and coordination of experimental therapeutical programs in major Piemonte hospitals. He also participates in formulating the regional therapeutical and diagnostic guidelines for management of oncologial patients and serves as a Lecturer at Medical University of Torino.

Saverio Alberti, MD, PhD

Dr Alberti brings years of experience in medical oncology, fundamental research and in Biotech start up. He is specialized oncologist and holds a PhD in Pharmacology. He covered positions as visiting scientist at Stanford University, MRC-CRC, Harrow, UK, and Human Frontier Science Institute-RIKEN,, Tsukuba, Japan. He currently holds an Academic position as Co-Director of the Unit of Cancer Pathology at the University of Chieti (Italy) and is the Founding Member & President of Oncoxx Biotech in Pescara (Italy). He is inventor on 11 patents on cancer therapy and tumor diagnostics.

Natasa Zarovni, PhD

Head of R&D

Dr Zarovni is member of our core executive team from the company foundation. She is responsible for all Exosomics internal and external R&D activities including development and management of strategic partnerships and collaborations with academic and industrial parties. Dr Zarovni has over 15 year-experience in biomedical research and holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Open University, London-San Raffaele Institute, Milan. She has vast experience in scientific and administrative R&D projects management and in team build-up and supervision. In the last 7 years she is engaged in applied exosome research. She held a position of Head of R&D activities in Hansabiomed SrL, Estonia, where she has leaded development and release of products for research use, biomarker verification studies and protocols and devices analytical validation.

Davide Zocco, PhD

Head of Molecular Diagnostics

Davide Zocco joined Exosomics in 2013 with the mandate to introduce and implement into the R&D pipeline the development of molecular assays for detection of EV shuttled mutations. In 2015 he took on the role of the Head of Molecular Diagnostics. Today he is responsible for development of EV-DNA and EV-RNA targeted solutions and for management of clinical testing of assay prototypes. Davide actively participates in scouting for new technologies, as well as internal IP strategy and pre-market launch of RUO and diagnostic kits. Prior to joining Exosomics he gained academic training and experience in molecular biology and signaling mechanisms of chronic inflammatory disease and cancer. He holds a PhD from University College Dublin (Ireland) and he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School (USA).

Giorgia Radano, Ms

QA and Immunodiagnostics

Mrs Radano joined Exosomics team in 2012 as a talented researcher responsible for the project ExoNanoDi promoted by Tuscany Region. Over time she took in charge the laboratory logistics and part of Immunodiagnostics development. She is also internal responsible for
standard services package offered by Exosomics. Mrs Radano
holds a Master degree in Biotechnology for Human Health from
University of Naples. She first stared at the Institute of Food
Science – CNR in Avellino as Researcher studying autoimmune responses
in inflammatory diseases. In Exosomics Siena she is responsible for
development and implementation of novel laboratory methods and is
supporting QC procedures.

Prof. Franco Roviello, MD

Dr Roviello is currently a Professor of Surgical Oncology at Siena University and a Head of General Surgery and Oncology at the Siena University Hospital. He has acquired wide experience in translational and clinical research in particular in the study of biomarkers for gastric carcinoma through fellowships and visiting doctor positions at Sclavo Laboratories, Siena, University of Granada, National Cancer Center Hospital Tokyo, Baragwanath Hospital, Johannesburg Mc Gill University, Montreal Addenbroke Hospital, Cambridge (UK). LUMC, Leiden and Korea National Cancer Institute, Seoul. His group is actively working on genetic screening, identification of circulating biomarkers in cancer patients and selection of other genetic factors responsible for oncogenesis, especially in gastric cancer. Dr Roviello is a secretary general of Italian Society for Oncological Surgery, he is a member of International Gastric Cancer Linkage Consortium and is a coordinator of a large tissue and serum bank of about 1400 samples in regard to stomach, colorectal, breast and pancreatic cancer.
